Austin Board of REALTORS Scholarship

The ABI Achieves Great Success Scholarship was established by Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABR) to recognize exceptional students who are of Hispanic or Latino descent. Students can earn up to $2,000 a year, while their family members are eligible to earn an additional $500 each year. Amount: $1,000 – $5,000 Requirements: To receive this scholarship, applicants must be freshmen students enrolled in the University of Texas or Texas A&M College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. To be eligible for the Terry Foundation scholarship, you must also be a Texas resident. Undergraduate Student Support Texas Legislature Award Amount: $3,000 – $7,500 Requirements: To be eligible for this scholarship, undergraduate students enrolled in a Texas public or private university are required to complete 100 hours of service. This includes serving as a first-year mentor, tutoring or counseling, participating in the school’s leadership program and participating in at least one academic community service activity.

Texas Educational Opportunity Grant (TEOG) Program

Applications for the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant (TEOG) Program are open through October 15, 2017. The program provides a merit-based award to all Texas high school seniors who have the potential to attend a postsecondary institution of higher learning. The program provides an estimated $1,740 to each applicant’s education. The Senior High TEOG (SHET) award covers 80% of the first semester of a state university or community college. After the first semester, students must pay full price for tuition or fees and meet all other eligibility requirements, which vary by school. Some awards cover up to a maximum of 100% of tuition or fees. The SHET award is not for students who are considered homeless, have a single parent, have a disability, or are a veteran or dependant of a veteran.

Association of Texas Leaders for Education Scholarship

Total value: $10,000 Grants acceptance for first-year freshmen at Texas A&M University and Texas State University. Lamar University Scholastic Excellence Scholarship Total value: $5,000 Grants admission for first-year undergraduate students with an ACT composite score of 27 or above. Lamar University Tiger Scout Scholarship Total value: $5,000 Grants admission for first-year undergraduate students with an ACT composite score of 26 or above. Lee University Lee University Tiger Scholarship Total value: $1,000 Eligible student must be a Lamar University high school senior, a member of the Lee University student body or a graduate of a school accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
